The KYEC Dragon’s Den

Our very own sales director Danny has been giving his time to The Kirklees Youth Enterprise Centre in a unique bid to find the new generation of young entrepreneurs.

All the young entrepreneurs received rigorous questioning about their business plans and close scrutiny of their market research and financial projections. But that proved to be only the half of it.

Before the Dragons approve any financial support, each of the budding business-people were asked to provide further clarification about one or more aspects of the business. Fortunately, they all took this ‘extra’ stage in their stride and iD30 are pleased to announce that ALL THREE SLAYED THE DRAGONS!!!!

Katy received £4279 to help set up her Dance Studio

Jordan received £5000 to develop his product aimed at Universities, and

Matty received £4995 for his DJ business.

Each of the amounts have been agreed in principle and are subject to a number of conditions being met by the entrepreneurs. Well done everyone!!!!!!

Danny says “this project is brilliant, it really does give our younger generation a massive incentive to look at other ways of making a career. The funding means we can invest massively in the next generation of young entrepreneurs. The first three entrepreneurs completely surprised the Dragons.

The Kirklees Youth Enterprise Centre is a unique resource specially designed to help young people set up and run their own business.

Based within the Creative & Media Studio School (which in turn is part of the Netherhall Learning Campus), the Centre brings together a package of mentoring and support that will help young entrepreneurs in Kirklees make their businesses a success.

The Centre is open for all 14-19 year olds in Kirklees and the enterprise support offered is totally separate from the education provision offered within the Studio School. In order for the Centre to compliment other education establishments in the area, it is open business-friendly working hours rather than the traditional school day of 9am - 3pm.
